The exhibition opens in the daytime of Saturday 1st March and will include reading of the letters and extracts from 'Three and Seven Pence Half Pennyman' by actors and friends of Arthur Berry. The exhibition will be showcasing original paintings, etchings and drawings by Norman Cope.
This exhibition gives a unique insight into the period of work being produced by an outstanding talent who tragically died at just 18 at The Burslem School of Art in 1943. The exhibition includes work gathered together by the family of Norman and is presented alongside a selection of letters to Norman from Arthur Berry, John Shelton, Reginald Haggar.
Normans work is in National collections including Keele University (The Barnard Stross collection) and The Potteries Museum and Art Gallery.
